Țara Codrului
The Land of Codru stretches over a hilly area of Maramureș County, with altitudes reaching a maximum of 600 m. The specificity of the area reveals a relatively conservative character, with a strong respect for ancestral values, perpetuated with great care from one generation to the next. With a significant tradition of folk art, the area still preserves ancient customs and occupations, but also many traditional households. The most imposing and ornate constructions within the households are the sheds. They strongly influenced the basic layout of the sheds in Chioar and Lăpuș.
